A Rooftop Proposal in Downtown Tulsa | Connor & Amelia

I had the absolute honor of photographing the sweetest rooftop proposal in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma — at Soma, the rooftop bar atop the stunning Brut Hotel.

I’ve had the joy of photographing Connor’s family for a few years now, so when he called to tell me he was planning to propose to Amelia, I was so ecstatic for them both — and for their families, who I’ve come to adore! From the very first phone call, it was clear how much thought and love he was pouring into every detail. He wanted this moment to be everything Amelia had dreamed of.

We hopped on a few calls to plan it all out, and together came up with the perfect little disguise — an anniversary dinner. I told him, “If there’s ever a time a girl will dress up, it’s her anniversary!” It worked like a charm. She wore the most beautiful white dress and gold heels – fit for a proposal!

As I drove into Tulsa, a few sprinkles dotted my windshield and my heart skipped a beat. But just as the evening unfolded, the sky cleared up and gave us the most beautiful light and soft glow over the city. Everything fell perfectly into place — like it was meant to be.

The proposal itself took place on the Soma rooftop, surrounded by the glass railings and scenic views of downtown Tulsa and the river beyond. There was laughter, happy tears, and pure joy — the kind of emotion you can feel long after the moment passes.

To top it all off, the night ended at Nola’s, where a surprise engagement party was waiting with both of their families gathered to celebrate the newly engaged couple. The cheers, hugs, and happy tears just kept coming — it was the perfect ending to the most thoughtful evening.

Connor and Amelia, what a beautiful beginning this is. I’m so thrilled for you both and can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for you.

The after party took place at Nola’s on Cherry Street in Tulsa, Ok. It’s pretty dark in there, but I loved the flash vibes and the black and white images that really captured all the emotions!
