There is something truly special about fall family photography sessions in Oklahoma, especially when the leaves are on the ground and families can relax and enjoy the season and beautiful weather together. The Montgomery family’s fall photo session in Gore, Oklahoma was the perfect example of everything I love about photographing families.

From the very beginning, their session felt easy, playful, and full of genuine connection.

The falling leaves created the dreamiest autumn setting for this Gore, Oklahoma family photography session. The warm tones, soft textures, and cozy fall atmosphere made every image feel timeless. The family’s outfits were absolutely adorable and coordinated beautifully with the season. Neutral colors paired with a pop of navy and patterns/textures that photographed effortlessly.

And then there was Molly, their youngest, wearing the sweetest sweater with a little horse on it. Those small details are what make family photos feel personal. Years from now, that sweater will instantly bring back memories of this stage of life.

Playful and Candid Family Photography Moments

This session was filled with laughter from start to finish. The kids were playful, curious, and completely themselves, which is exactly how I want families to feel during their family photo sessions. Some of the best images came from moments that were not posed at all. Walking through the leaves, joking together, maybe even a little rough housing- simply enjoying time as a family.

In the middle of all the movement and fun, we also captured a few quiet moments of just mom and dad. These images are always so important. Family photos are not only about the kids. We ended the session with the silliest tickle fight, and it was the perfect way to wrap things up. Pure joy, belly laughs, and uncontrollable giggles filled the air. I captured these moments both in photos and on video so their laughter could be remembered forever, not just seen.

A full video wasn’t added on so I didn’t have a gimbal or my regular equipment I might bring to a video session, but I had to document the moment.
